I am interested in eco-friendly pesticides including micro
organisms. My program for master, doctoral and post-doctoral programme including insect and plant biochemistry with insect
molecular pathology.
Most of my work groups (BET lab) involve the interactions of rice and other
crops with its major insect pests in Tamil-Nadu the rice leaffolder and tobacco
cutworm. Present areas of active investigation include the following: biochemical and physiological mechanisms and
mode of action of biopesticides. Further induced resistance and plant-mediated interactions between insect herbivores and
pathogenic microorganisms has major focus in the project funded by federal Government agencies
The ultimate goal of our
entire research group conducted in my laboratory is the development of eco-friendly and economically feasible management programs
for insect pests of crop including rice.
I teach
a post-graduate-level course on Biopesticides and Environmental Protection (A23Y) and Molecular
Toxicology.
